Day 29 | It’s Time to Move On…

April 7, 2017

Unfortunately, the Bureau of Land Management only allows 14 days of dispersed camping at the same campsite. We’re hitting the 14-day deadline this Monday and are going to have to move again. I wish we could just leave for a day and then come back but there are lots of rules to prevent people from doing that sort of thing.

We still have no idea where we’re going from here and it’s been weighing on me a lot these last two days. It’s so discouraging to have to leave almost as soon as things started getting better. Stability seems to hate us!

To be honest, I’m feeling a bit discouraged. Finding this place was a difficult process and we tried many locations that didn’t work before we landed here. Finding another place where I feel good that also happens to be warm enough and close enough to water, food and internet seems like an overwhelming task. We’re weary and don’t have the energy for that.

We’re praying that God would provide us with a place we can stay more long term. It would be ideal if we knew someone with a lot of land in a good location who would be willing to let us camp on their property for a few months. We’ll see what happens. God has been faithful this far. He won’t let us down now.

“As for His failing you, never dream of it — hate the thought of it. The God who has been sufficient until now, should be trusted to the end.”
– Charles Spurgeon

Oh Ana! Wow, I’m so sorry. That’s so discouraging! I will be praying that God gives the strength you and Brett need. Just know that where you will go next is NOT a mystery to God, even though it is to you. He will lead you and it will be PERFECT! Lifting you up in prayer! Lots of love!

We pray that the Lord will give you a new place tonight. You are on our hearts a lot. Much love to you, even if we don’t know each other personally.

Even if, like the Israelites, God leads you from place to place through the desert, He will always go before you, and be with you. He even provided them with close by water when they asked, too! Praying! <3 I know it's hard.

Exactly! I am definitely able to identify with the Israelites a lot more now! Thanks for the encouragement.

The uncertainty must be so tough. The quote by Spurgeon is so powerful. Praying that you will know the depths of His sufficiency more deeply, more sweetly than ever before. So thankful He goes behind and before and knows the end from the beginning. That He has planned our days before one of them came to be. {Ps. 139, Is. 46:10}. I always rest my soul upon this when fear of the future threatens to crush the hope from me. Praying for His perfect peace and provision for you!

Ana, I’m so sorry to hear this news!! Can you appeal to the Bureau of Land Management with your case being not the usual reason people camp, but for medical purposes? Maybe even your doctor helping to vouch for you? I’m sure many people would appeal on your behalf. At any rate, I’m going to beef up the prayers and expect God to work in this and provide a miracle. He’s still in the miracle business, and promises to always provide for His children!!! So I can’t wait to hear how He shows himself strong in this situation!! Don`t lose hope!!! Many people are praying!!!

That’s an interesting idea, Chris! Maybe we could! I wonder how we would find the local contact. I’ll poke around on google. If not, we have come up with a few ideas since I wrote this that I will share in tomorrow’s post.

I feel like these Scriptures describe what you’re going through right now!
    Psalm 107:4-8
“4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
~ Praying that the Lord gives you a special place of habitation, rest, peace-of-mind and heart, and healing. God cares for you in every moment, especially when life makes everything big or little difficult and discouraging.

Yes, being able to do laundry is fantastic, even if you feel like you’re doing it like a 6 year old or something. 😉 And a Birthday Hike is amazing!!! God is SO good! He won’t let you down…EVER!!!! (That’s kinda what the song I heard on the radio the other day said, but I can’t rember the song! When I do, I’ll let ya know!) 🙂 Love in Christ,
