Day 54 | The Only Way Through It, Is Through it

May 2, 2017

It was too cold to sleep at our new campsite in mountains last night so we drove back down to the town of Jemez Springs and slept by the side of the road. I slept much better and wasn’t nearly as cold as the night before!

This morning Brett tried to get some work done on his phone before we headed up to our campsite to do laundry. It’s been a struggle for him to find a way to work on his computer. There are a number of reasons for this. First off, the computer itself is badly contaminated and I react to it so I can’t be around when he’s using it. Secondly, it’s hard to find coffee shops with wifi in remote locations. And lastly, going into town just to use the computer would take more time than we have right now. We’re already struggling to keep up with the basics. It feels like treading water sometimes!

Thankfully, he’s figured out a way to record and upload audio lessons for his online class “The Young Writer’s Workshop” from his iPhone. That’s been huge! After he was done uploading today’s lesson we headed back up to our campsite to do laundry and cook food. That took all afternoon.

Then we drove back out to cell reception so that we could call and chat with another couple who is also doing mold avoidance. It was really helpful to chat with others who understand our situation. I especially liked the quote they shared with us at the end.

“The only way through it is through it and it will take as long as it takes”

I thought that was such a good reminder! The best way forward is to calmly accept the path that we’ve been given to walk and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. We’ll get there.

    Hi Ana,

Although cold at night, it’s good to hear that you haven’t been reacting up here in Jemez.. . Praise the Lord!
Perhaps this is your safe place where you can stay planted for a while, before transitioning to the next big stepping stone?

Hoping to see you both soon.

(p.s- can you send me an email so I have your contact info? Thanks 🙂

Blessings and Shalom to you both

You will get there! Praying for you two! I’m praying with the Apostle Paul in Colossians 1:11, that you would be “strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.”

    Hi dear ones,
Praying for you:) I wondered if a wool blanket would be warm but less prone to contamination?
