It’s been over a week since we decided to live in the van and things are going more swimmingly than you might expect. In spite of Tuesday’s difficulties, I feel strong, happy, and productive. The crushing fatigue, pain and post exertional malaise are completely gone. I am once again, full of energy and excited to be alive!
We are both at peace with our decision to camp and looking forward to the upcoming adventures. Brett told me last night that he thinks living in the van is going to be really enjoyable with the new upgrades. Even now, with all the extra work of shopping and preparing the van, he has moments of thinking, “This is really nice!”
That made me really happy! It really is nice! It’s so relaxing to be out in nature and our van is feeling really cozy with the new curtains.
Our introduction to camping was a desperate attempt to save my life. It involved constantly fleeing to avoid anaphylaxis, explaining to police officers why we were sleeping on the side of the road, and shivering to death because I couldn’t tolerate any sleeping bags. Needless to say, feeling like camping could be fun is rather foreign to us. I like it!
I think I’m beginning to understand why so many healthy and sane people spend their vacation time camping. I knew there had to be some draw! 😉
By the way, Brett and I made a beautiful PDF of my favorite resources for suffering souls. I created the content and he made it look fancy with his superduper graphic design skills. It’s available for free to my email subscribers. Click here to sign up and receive 5 Resources for the Suffering Soul.
