Our new campground overlooks a beautiful reservoir and we really wanted to go jump in the water today. So Brett helped me to get the laundry done quickly before we went swimming. We invited our friend, Sara, who is also camping here, to come along. It’s been in the high 90s and we couldn’t wait to cool off!
It was only about 13 minutes to the nicest beach so we went there. When we got out of the van Ramona got really, really excited and a little too vocal. She’d never been swimming before!
She hesitated a little at first before getting in the water, but ended up really enjoying it. She was such a good little swimmer!
It was so fun watching her paddle along. I think it’s kind of amazing that dogs don’t need to be taught how to swim. She was so cute! Every once in a while, she would stick her tongue out to lap up water while she swam. It made all of us smile!
Brett and I took turns holding her leash and keeping an eye on her. When she was ready to get out Brett ran along the beach with her while I enjoyed the refreshing water. It felt so good to just float and I forgot all about yesterday’s pain! Moving through the water was really peaceful and enjoyable!
When we were all satisfied, we headed back to our campground. Sara and I started preparing dinner together while Brett got some important work things done.
It was really fun to be able to spend so much time talking and connecting with Sara today. She’s taught me so much about healing from chronic illness and her story has been such an inspiration to me. It was really nice to be able to spend time with someone who understands this crazy world of mold avoidance a lot more than I do. I love how she can be honest about how hard all of this is while still keeping it fun.
By the way, Brett and I made a beautiful PDF of my favorite resources for suffering souls. I created the content and he made it look fancy with his superduper graphic design skills. It’s available for free to my email subscribers. Click here to sign up and receive 5 Resources for the Suffering Soul.
