Day 39 & 40 | A Bump in the Road

April 18, 2017

Unfortunately, things are not going so well at our new campsite and we’re not quite sure why. I have been having more fatigue, pain, hives and trouble sleeping.

So far the most plausible explanation is that moving to a higher elevation has caused some of our cross-contaminated belongings to off-gas at a faster rate. It’s not uncommon for possessions that were not a problem at a lower elevation to become a problem at a higher elevation. We’re not sure.

One thing seems pretty clear, I am reacting to my phone which is the only thing we kept that was in the moldy apartment with us. I normally use it through a plastic bag and haven’t had a problem with it until now. I blog from my phone so I am sad to announce that I am going to need to take a day or two off.

The best way to determine if it’s the location or our stuff is to spend a full day away from all our stuff and see how I feel. If I don’t improve then it’s probably the location. We’re hoping it’s just the elevation denaturing the biotoxins on our stuff since that should die down in a couple days. We’ll see.

I send out a weekly digest with updates about our adventures. To receive these updates click here.

    Continuing to pray for you!
By day the Lord directs His love,
at night His song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
