I spent this morning doing laundry while Brett got some work done. It feels so good to be able to help my husband in a truly significant way, especially after being disabled for so many years. I can actually do something to lighten the load! It’s awesome! đ
Unfortunately, it started raining while I was finishing up the laundry and strong gusts of wind began picking up a lot of dust. We hurried to grab a few of our things so that they wouldn’t blow away, and got in the car. Thankfully we only had to drive about 10 minutes to get away from the worst of it.
We spent the afternoon and evening sitting in the car waiting for the winds to calm down. Brett did some work things while I plugged away at my writing. At around 7pm something blew through the area and I started breaking out in hives. We left as quickly as we could!
After we had already started driving back, we realized that we were completely out of drinking water. Oops! I decided to take a Benadryl so we could turn around and grab some water at a nearby gas station. Brett went as quickly as he could and we were able to escape back to our campsite safely. Thankfully, the winds had already calmed down.
We got out of the car to decontaminate. Brett poured some water on my head and I squeezed it through my hair. Then he helped me rinse my face and arms. I shivered as I changed my shirt and got back into the car.
