Day 125 | Adjusting to Life Without Medication

July 12, 2017

This is a photo my brother took of a bunch of my empty medication and supplement bottles along with lots and lots of half empty bottles of promising treatments that never worked.

Good news! Things are looking up! My energy level is still below my baseline but I’m definitely feeling better. I think it will just take a little while for my body to come back into balance after stopping the medications. It’s relied on those “chemical helpers,” as my doctor calls them, for a long time and re-establishing homeostasis might take a few more days. I’m not worried that I’ll have to go back on them though. The pain is not increasing and I seem to be improving little by little. Hooray!

I used to have to stop almost every hour to take some pill or concoction. I had medications alarms set from 7am to 10pm and I couldn’t go anywhere without packing a purse full of medications and supplements. I got so good at swallowing pills that I could take over 10 at a time whether I was nauseous or not. It wasn’t fun! I’m so glad I no longer have to live at the mercy of constant medication alarms!

On another positive note, I don’t seem to be reacting to Ramona anymore either. I’m still being cautious to avoid holding her on my lap but I haven’t reacted the few times I’ve gotten close to her. We even had her sleep on the driver’s seat the last two nights and I slept just fine. I think it’s likely that all of my family’s efforts payed off and that just being in a sunny pristine environment for a few weeks has brought the contamination down a lot. Yay! I’m so happy it worked out and I can’t wait until I can cuddle with her again!

By the way, Brett and I made a beautiful PDF of my favorite resources for suffering souls. I created the content and he made it look fancy with his superduper graphic design skills. Big achievements!! So happy the plan for Ramona worked out. I bet she’s happier too with out the toxins!! A lot of us have lost pets. Did you stop all the binders and supplements? The binders seam so important. But it’s ok for you.
Anna, I think life is funny. There are so many things that can happen to people, floods, un solved illnesses like ours, famine. Love and puppies. But it’s all part of the life on this planet. I hope for our ability to emotionally manage it. And for the loves we have to help us. And man kind to be kind and brilliant in cureing things. But most of all love. Sending love and peace and hugs.

I’m so happy for you! Praise the Lord that He has brought you to this point.
I totally understand living at the mercy of timed medications. Our family has become so good at hearing a ringtone and saying, “Time for Rifampin!” or “Detox Drops time!” Maybe someday
we’ll join you in dumping the bottles out. For now, a reminder rings for me to take drops.
