This morning I cleaned the van and did laundry as usual. Then in the afternoon we went into town to get groceries and pick up some Amazon orders at America’s Mailbox. A bunch of dog stuff! Hooray!
My dear family is coming to visit in exactly a week and they’re bringing us our dog Ramona. We feel ready to have her with us now and we just can’t wait to introduce her to #vanlife. She’s going to love being outdoors all the time!
I had to order all new stuff for her since anything that’s been in upstate New York, has the potential of being contaminated. Sadly, upstate New York is a problematic location for a lot of biotoxin illness sufferers.
We ordered Ramona a new crate, new dishes, a new leash and harness, and treats. Plus a bottle of shampoo since she’s going to need to decontaminate too! When we got to America’s Mailbox Brett brought out all the boxes so that I could test the items.
Thankfully, nothing was terribly contaminated besides a few of the boxes which we threw away immediately. We always take new things out their packaging before bringing them into the van anyway, just to be safe.
A few items felt mildly contaminated and I put them in plastic bags to protect our van. I’ll set them out in the sun for a few days and that should fix the problem. I also transferred the dog treats into a new bag and threw away the original packaging which didn’t feel so good.
Seeing all of the dog stuff made me realize how excited I am! I can’t believe we’re really going to have Ramona again!!! Yippee! It’s going to be so happy!!!
It felt like when we were preparing to bring her home for the first time as a puppy. Only this time we already know and love her. We will definitely want to get a video of the joyous reunion. She going to be so excited! I hope she doesn’t sprain her tail from wagging too hard! Don’t laugh, that really did happen to a dog once!π
By the way, Brett and I made a beautiful PDF of my favorite resources for suffering souls. I created the content and he made it look fancy with his superduper graphic design skills.
