It’s So Worth It!

September 17, 2018

We’ve been camping for over two weeks and I’m doing so much better. I can think clearly and write easily again! I have so much energy! My pain is gone! It’s amazing how quickly things turned around.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how to facilitate my continued recovery and came up with what I call “my four year wellness plan.” It includes plans for extended camping trips, detoxification, nutrition and good housing. My goal is to be 100% well before I turn 30. It seems like a reasonable goal right now but perhaps it’s too optimistic. We’ll see what happens. I can only do the next right thing.

I’ve also been working on decontaminating all our clothes. Now that I’ve unmasked again, it’s become clear that a lot of our clothing is problematic. I don’t know if it’s contaminated from our apartment or from my detox. Either way, I’m working on washing everything and setting it out in the sun to denature. Since moving indoors we gradually drifted away from our three outfit limit, so we have a decent sized wardrobe to decontaminate. I’m hopeful we’ll be able to save things this time since it’s only mild cross-contamination and I don’t really mind doing laundry. It’s great exercise, and it feels so good to be productive again after such a long stretch of inactivity.

Of course, we still have to deal with the typical prairie adversities: crazy windstorms, painful sunburns (despite sunscreen), dry skin and chilly nights. Plus, driving into town daily to fill our water jugs and use the bathroom. Mold avoidance has got to be the most inconvenient way of life ever! But it’s also pretty special. I would never put myself through this unless it was 100% worth it. Nothing else has been able to bring so much healing and believe me, I’ve tried a lot of treatments.

By the way, Brett and I made a beautiful PDF of my favorite resources for suffering souls. I created the content and he made it look fancy with his superduper graphic design skills. I think this is such a unique way to get to exsplore God’s Nature and let the healing come with it. I wish you luck on your laundry.
